Are you an HR professional searching to understand how you can use LinkedIn for your hiring process? You reached the right place.
In today’s article, we will look into LinkedIn Hiring Features.
LinkedIn Hiring Basics
What is the LinkedIn #Hiring Feature?
Since COVID and the war in Ukraine led to many layoffs across companies, LinkedIn decided to make it easier for people to announce that they are looking for jobs, and ultimately, make it easier for recruiters to announce that they have open roles.
They have introduced a feature that allows you to announce to your network that you are hiring. If you use it, you will get a colored stripe on your profile picture that will have written the word #Hiring.
Also, they added the option to announce if you are open for work. The idea is the same. You will get a colored stripe with #OpenToWork written on it.
Benefits of using the Hiring Feature
Using this feature has some advantages that you should take into consideration:
- Announcing that you are hiring increases the awareness in your network, which might lead to higher referral rates.
- With this new feature is easier for job seekers to search for a recruiter profile
- The #OpenToWork helps you see which candidates are available and make it easier to reach them with personalized messages
- It’s easier to identify the people that have the highest chances of converting into candidates since they have already announced their availability
- You can also use it as an Employer Brand tool. Usually, a company that hires signals to the market that their operations go as planned and that the company is growing
How does the LinkedIn Hiring Feature Work?
The Hiring feature is so much more than the photo frame. It also brings updates related to posts, hashtags and many others. We will cover them one by one.
Job posts
Now you can create new job posts from your member profile or the share box from the feed. What LinkedIn does is to announce your network each time you post a job. These notifications usually help with increasing awareness. Posting them from your member profile allows you to also add a personal touch to it. This will increase a candidate’s trust and will help them feel more connected to you.
Hiring Hashtags
When you use the #HIRING hashtag, LinkedIn will notify your network. Moreover, using hashtags will make it easier for people to search for open jobs and to apply for them.
Hiring Photo Frame
We already mentioned the photo frame you can use to make you pop amongst the recruiter’s and other people’s profiles. You will have a badge around your profile picture with #HIRING or #OPENTOWORK that everyone will be able to see even if they are not in your network already.
Team Members Posts
You can now feature your profile on the job post’s Meet the Team section. This helps spread the word among your employees and creates a more cohesive communication standard within your company. If multiple team members are using your LinkedIn page account, we recommend setting a list of communication principles you can use when posting on behalf of the company.
LinkedIn Hiring Pricing
#Hiring on LinkedIn is free of charge. However, you have two different pricing plans when using LinkedIn as your main recruitment tool: free and promoted.
With a free plan, you can post your job, and it will be visible among your network if people will search for specific keywords. You also get the easy filter option. This is great if you already have numerous people in your network. A trick that you can use is to invest in your Personal Brand and attract followers and connections. Once you have the foundation, you can reach many more via your posts and interactions.
With the promoted option, your job post will be shown at the top of search results, get top placement in job recommendations, and get smart alerts regarding qualified candidates. The promoted option is the one that increases your pool of talents and helps you position your company as an employer of choice.
Posting Jobs on Linkedin for Free
You can use the free option if you are not interested in investing in promoted job posts.
To use it, go to the Jobs tab of the dropdown menu. There you can post a free job and complete the fields to make it attractive.
We recommend you use the fields and check what other companies are doing. This way, you will ensure you add all the necessary details to make it easier for candidates to filter themselves before applying.
It’s also a good idea to ask for feedback from your candidates and use that feedback to improve further job descriptions. You can also add some testimonials from current employees to increase the trust and add a personal touch to it.
How To Remove Hiring From Linkedin
If you don’t want to use the hiring frame anymore, there are a few steps that you have to follow:
- Click the ME icon
- Click View Profile
- Click the Edit button from the Share that you’re hiring box
- Click Delete from profile
It’s important to know that you can add the frame only if you have an active job post. So you have to create a job post before being able to use this option. If you don’t know how to do it, check the info above on how to post jobs for free.
