This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on linkmatch.com, why we use them, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else we do with personal data.
Cookies in the EU are governed by the ePrivacy Directive, implemented in Romania by Law 506/2004 on personal data processing in electronic communications, as well as by the GDPR.
What these technologies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies that store or read information on your device, including local storage, session storage and tracking pixels. Everything in this policy applies to all of them, whatever the technical name.
Cookies set by linkmatch.com are first-party. Cookies set by other companies whose services appear on our site are third-party, and those companies’ own privacy policies apply to what they do with the data.
The four categories we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function: keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choices, protecting against fraud and automated attacks, and load balancing. These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot work without them. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive these are exempt from the consent requirement.
Functional. Remember preferences such as language and whether you have dismissed a message. Turning these off means the site works, but forgets your choices.
Analytics. Tell us which pages are visited, where visitors come from, and where people get stuck, so we can improve the site. We use this in aggregate rather than to identify individuals.
Marketing. Measure the performance of our advertising and let us reach relevant audiences. These are set by third parties and may be used to build a profile of your interests across websites.
Everything except strictly necessary cookies requires your consent in the EU, UK and EEA, and we do not load them until you give it.
Your choices
In the EU, UK and EEA, we ask before any non-essential cookie loads. On your first visit you can accept all, reject all, or choose categories. Nothing beyond strictly necessary runs until you opt in, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.
In the US and other regions, non-essential cookies run by default. Opt out through Your Privacy Choices in the footer.
Change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately for future page loads.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it automatically as an opt-out of sharing your information for targeted advertising. You do not need to do anything else.
Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use private browsing. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working. Instructions are in the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
We re-ask for consent periodically and whenever we add a cookie in a new category, so your choice stays current. We keep a record of your consent for 12 months in order to demonstrate compliance, as we are required to do.

Google Tag Manager itself sets no cookies. It loads the tags that do, and only those in categories you have accepted.

The Meta Pixel may send Meta information about your visit, such as pages viewed and a hashed identifier, so we can measure advertising performance. In the EU, UK and EEA this loads only with your consent.
International transfers
Google and Meta are established in the United States. Where cookie data reaches them, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Cloudflare relies on Standard Contractual Clauses. Crisp is a French company and its data stays in the EU. More detail is in section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
The LinkMatch extension
This policy covers the website. The browser extension does not use advertising or analytics cookies to track you. It stores what it needs to work, such as your session and your settings, and how it handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes
We update this policy when we add, remove or change cookies. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes are handled as described in section 12 of our Privacy Policy.
